The Rotary Club of Pangbourne meets every Monday evening,  7.30 for 8.00 - except Bank Holidays - at the The Calcot Hotel on the A4 Bath Road, Calcot.  Our President, Colin Mansell, always enjoys the company of visitors, so if you would like to come along to one of our meetings - even if you are not a Rotarian - please feel free to contact our Secretary, Rohit Tanna. We are always looking for new members.

The Rotary Club of Pangbourne was chartered in 1989 and currently has 25 members, comprising of men and women from professional and business backgrounds.  Our main annual fundraising events include a Paintings Exhibition and Sale, Dragon Boat Racing on the Thames, and a 10 pin Bowlathon. Over the years we have supported the local branch of Breast Cancer Campaign; Sue Ryder Nettlebed Hospice; Reading Single Homeless Project; Reading Resource for Mental Health; Samaritans; National Deaf Children's Society; Purley Park Trust (residence for adults with learning disabilities) minibus appeal; Brookfield School (for handicapped children) sensory playroom; Living Paintings Trust (children with severe sight problems); Reading Hospital Cardiac Unit; Naomi House Hospice for terminally ill children; Berkshire Community Foundation; Adventure Dolphin Centre; sent youngsters on outward bound courses and many more such causes.

The Club is also very proud of the popularity of the annual Senior Citizens' Party for local residents that we started about ten years ago; the event is normally held in January in Pangbourne, when over a hundered eagerly attend. We also support local schools with an annual programme of Mock Job and University Entrance Interviews for senior pupils, Creative Writing Competition with a number of local primary schools, and - jointly with Caversham Rotary Club - an annual Youth Speaks public speaking competition.
